DOUBLE STRAND HEISHI NECKLACE WITH SMALL BLUE TURQUOISE
This delicate natural turquoise Heishi necklace is handcrafted by artists of the Santo Domingo tribe in New Mexico. This ancient process of jewelry-making involves slicing the raw material into tiny slices, drilling holes, stringing the slices, grinding the strand by hand on a stone wheel, and finally sanding and polishing gradually. The final product of smooth, tiny beads is strung on a piece of sinew to create an airy, bright, and precious necklace, with unique variations in each stone and strand. This necklace has two strands of beads attached at the ends with a sterling silver cone and clasp.
