Its no surprise that Michael was inspired by the birch tree when designing this collection. He was not only drawn to the undeniable beauty of this fall staple, but to its symbolism of new beginnings, protection, and renewal. The one trait all 60 species of birch trees share is their ability to paint nature with golden, warm tones once autumn arrives. During his design process, Michael focused on the way autumn leaves cascade as they fall, as well as the birch tree's alternating leaf arrangement, where each leaf uniquely grows along the branch instead of across from one another in pairs.
