Jewelry Around the Globe

Jewelry Around the Globe

Anna Beck
Bali, Indonesia

Anna Beck Jewelry Designs is a Los Angeles-based contemporary jewelry collection that uses one of the oldest jewelry making techniques in the exotic Far East. Hand crafted on the island of Bali, each piece in the Anna Beck jewelry collection is layered with tiny gold or silver disks individually cut and affixed to the metal base to produce Anna Beck’s signature jewelry style. The gold plating and finishing process takes several days to complete. Today Anna Beck's jewelry designer, Becky Hosmer splits her time between Bali and Los Angeles. Her affection for Balinese people and culture, coupled with the island’s vibrant scenery, provides inspiration that she merges with the casual elegance of California Style.

Anne Sportun
Toronto, Canada

Anne Sportun's creativity is driven by her belief in a universal language of shapes and symbols. Finding pure beauty in nature's organic forms, she balances the precise with the irregular, the perfect with the prosaic. Sparkling gems adopt an understated elegance that transforms them from special-occasion dazzlers to wear-everyday pleasures. Based in Toronto, she's been honored with a Canadian postage stamp featuring her hands and rings.

Pura Vida

Soko
Kenya, East Africa

Founded by Gwendolyn Floyd, Catherine Mahugu, and Ella Peinovich, Soko has designed a proprietary smartphone commerce app that transforms the mobile phone into a tool enabling global artisans in underserved communities access to international markets. The result is a plethora of affordable, stylish jewelry that is ethically handmade in Kenya from sustainable materials available on the company’s site. Soko’s goal, in the spirit of social entrepreneurial outreach to developing communities, is to ‘transform the fashion industry for good, one accessory at a time’.
